3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag: Day 1

I was tagged by the lovely Kat from Perks of Being a Daydreamer, thank you very much for tagging me. As someone who is not a great ‘quote-collector’, I really had to stop and stare at my bookshelves for a while. Hence why it’s been over a week since Kat first tagged me.

The Rules

I am not the biggest fan of inspirational quotes, personally, they can feel a bit patronising. However, this quote – from Oh, The Places You’ll go by Dr Seuss – holds sentimental value for me. As my university start date approached with alarming speed I called on anything and everything I could to try and find my nerves. I was petrified. Whilst putting together an ‘inspirational quotes book’ (I completed one page, never looked at, and, thinking about it now, I am filled with second-hand embarrassment for past me) I discovered this book. I bought myself a copy, took it to university and read it whenever I was feeling unconfident, especially in my academic abilities. It felt satisfyingly full-circle to use this quote as the closing line of my valedictorian speech at graduation.
